Chris McGinnis has tracked travel trends since 1987 in a variety of roles, from travel correspondent on CNN Headline News, to business travel columnist for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Entrepreneur magazine. He created and edited Expedia Travel Trendwatch and has been writing and publishing THE TICKET newsletter since 1993. He's a regular contributor and commentator on CNN, HLN and Fox News. He contributes to several annual business/luxury travel sections for FORTUNE, MONEY and FSB magazines. He's also a speaker, consultant and the author of two books on business travel.

DETAILS: Currently based in San Francisco, Christopher McGinnis is the director of Travel Skills Group, Inc., and has covered consumer and business travel issues since 1987 in a variety of roles:

>Travel correspondent for CNN Headline News, and Travel Adviser columnist for CNN.com where he covered consumer travel issues from 1996 through 2005. He also served as travel correspondent for the Weather Channel for two years.

>Business travel writer/contributor or columnist for Entrepreneur, Fortune, Conde Nast Traveler, and Travel + Leisure.

>Author of two books, The Unofficial Business Traveler's Pocket Guide (1998 McGraw-Hill). And 202 Tips Even the Best Business Travelers May Not Know (1994 McGraw-Hill).

McGinnis also creates and writes business travel newsletters for Fortune 500 corporations. Additionally, he serves as a sales and marketing consultant for travel related publications and businesses.

Chris leads seminars and panel discussions in the US and abroad on business travel topics. He also offers training courses for novice business travelers who are about to embark on careers that require frequent travel. He is a widely quoted expert in all major business publications, including USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Business Week and Fortune and is a regular guest on many business-related radio and television shows.

Before focusing on business travel, Chris was a management consultant and corporate trainer, logging over 100,000 frequent flyer miles a year.

And before all of the above, he earned a Master's degree in International Management from the Garvin School of International Management ("Thunderbird") in Phoenix, AZ, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
