About Chris McGinnis

Currently based in San Francisco, Chris McGinnis is the director of Travel Skills Group, Inc., and has covered consumer and business travel issues since 1987 in a variety of roles:

>Editor, Expedia Travel Trendwatch, a quarterly report on consumer travel trends, insight and tips from Expedia.com, the world’s leading online travel service.

>Travel correspondent for CNN Headline News, and Travel Adviser columnist for CNN.com where he covered consumer travel issues from 1996 through 2005. He also served as travel correspondent for the Weather Channel for two years.

Chris leads seminars and panel discussions in the US and abroad on business travel topics. He also offers training courses for novice business travelers who are about to embark on careers that require frequent travel. He is a widely quoted expert in all major business publications, including USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Business Week and Fortune and is a regular guest on many business-related radio and television shows.

Before focusing on business travel, Chris was a management consultant and corporate trainer, logging over 100,000 frequent flyer miles a year.

And before all of the above, he earned a Master’s degree in International Management from the Garvin School of International Management (”Thunderbird”) in Phoenix, AZ, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
